Families, seniors, and businesses are feeling the pressure of rising costs. Property taxes continue to increase while residents expect reliable services and responsible financial management.

Keeping taxes affordable isn't about cutting services—it's about making City Hall work smarter.

As Councillor, I will:

• Review City programs and spending to identify efficiencies before considering tax increases.  
• Eliminate duplication and improve service delivery across departments.  
• Publish clear, easy-to-understand reports showing how taxpayer dollars are spent.  
• Support targeted property tax relief for eligible low-income and fixed-income seniors.  
• Expand revenue opportunities that reduce pressure on property taxes without compromising essential services.

Smart Growth Pays for Itself 

New development should contribute fairly toward the infrastructure it requires. 
Roads, parks, water systems, transit, community centres, and emergency services all come with costs. Existing residents should not be expected to subsidize new growth. 
Every major development should include a transparent review of its long-term infrastructure impacts and ensure developers contribute appropriately.
